Daily Greek Vocabulary Review: Aug. 15

Today's proverbs are from GROUP 41; use that link to review the vocabulary, English translation, and commentary. Before you click and look at the English, see which proverbs you can understand on your own without any English prompting!

  1. Σιγή ποτ' ἐστὶν αἱρετωτέρα λόγου.
  2. Ἀγαθὸν μέγιστον ἡ φρόνησίς ἐστ' ἀεί.
  3. Τῶν γὰρ πενήτων εἰσὶν οἱ λόγοι κενοί.
  4. Δὶς πρὸς τὸν αυτὸν αἰσχρὸν προσκρούειν λίθον.
  5. Ὁ κύων ὁ ζῶν αὐτὸς ἀγαθὸς ὑπὲρ τὸν λέοντα τὸν νεκρόν.
